Welcome...

Young AMP aims to facilitate youth and community involvement and provide a supportive environment for capacity building, exploration and problem solving - after all it's people in the community who ultimately make change happen and who live with the results.

Over the next few issues of our e-newsletter, I will get some of our Board of Management (BOM) members to introduce themselves informally to you so that we can get to know each other better. I think its exciting times for all of us.  So, don't forget to sign up to be on our mailing list.

My vision for Young AMP is for it to become a brand name known for being a dynamic, forward-looking and inclusive one-stop hub for young Muslim professionals from various backgrounds (current or emerging ones - including students) to be constantly informed of future challenges/opportunities, to network across different age groups and to build analytical capacity.

Young AMP should exist, through thought and practice leadership and a collaborative ethos, to help Young and Emerging Professionals realise their potential, to take advantage of this position, and to eventually help the less fortunate and take their place as leaders of tomorrow.

The BOM and Secretariat is internally re-looking at our internal structures as well as new processes to streamline our thought leadership, youth leadership development & capacity building activities and make it more effective.  Also importantly, we would be focusing on reaching out to more potential friends and to get them to be more involved or empowered to suggest activities and undertake them on their own, with our support.  We are also open to explore partnerships with any organic youth or professional groups interested in helping the community.

So yes. It's time! To be Active. Time to join us as Young AMP 'Friends'. And Time to shape a new generation of youth and young professionals.

Saktiandi Supaat
President

MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
(YEP - Youth Enrichment Programme)

Why not try your hand (and mind) to assist students in their early secondary years whom appreciate the academic, character and personal developmental support you can render.

The self-satisfaction seeing the young students (mentees) improve in their studies and apply their increased self-esteem on their day-to-day life is something truly worth to find time for.

Tea-sessions with students from various tertiary institutions are something we enjoy to do on a regular basis.

Seen here, En Shahar (HR Manager from AMP), on behalf of Young AMP, presenting a cheque to NTUMS supporting their Battalia Event - successfully organised on Feb 10.

Ideas, views and suggestions are freely bounced around, and of course discussing on how we can collaborate for the betterment of our community!

We welcome student bodies from ALL tertiary institutions (Unis, JCs, Polys, ITEs and Madrasahs etc) to contact us. Our doors (and ears) are always open. Email us for a tea-session.
