I think there is space for both organizations to co-exist. There is some interesting history behind the creation of AMP. Both organizations have different underlying philosophies. Mendaki is closely linked to the political leadership. AMP is an independent body, created by a group of professionals who felt passionate about the community.
Both run their own programmes. The current relationship is a healthy one. Both organizations tend to attract different groups of persons.
I am a believer that constructive engagement between different bodies is a healthy one.
So I think they should remain separate, but should continue to engage each other to see where they can work together, or where to look at how they can eliminate areas of overlap.
